Laser, Light-Flash and Electronic Tweezer Devices?
The U.S. government, F.D.A. Medical Device Division, does not allow the Laser and Light Devices to use the word PERMANENT in their advertising

We agree with the Food & Drug Administration. Our experts researched and tested 3 Laser devices and 2 Light devices and none removed hair permanently. We tried a fiber optic laser type machine for almost one year. We eventually returned all fees paid to us, because all the hair grew back! Our office is now taking on new patients, that had extensive laser treatments, who now want Permanent Hair Removal. To have permanent removal The cost is about 15 times less than temporary laser treatments.

We also spent 11 1/2 years in litigation, which finalized in Federal Court. The U.S. Government said that "Electronic Tweezer Devices" that are advertised on T.V. or in national magazines, can not use the word PERMANENT. (Decision made by Federal Trade Commission, Administrative Judge K. Hyun - Docket No. 9200) Since 1958, we have offered our patients honest, safe, experienced and therefore economical permanent hair removal. If any new device proves to meet all these criteria we will be happy to offer them to our patients. Until then, do not be a "Human Guinea Pig" with your skin and at your financial expense. Let us do the testing and spending for you. We have over 75 years combined experience. In fact our office authored the number one book ("Modern Electrology") in the profession of permanent hair removal.

...(Laser)
technology, developed by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital,
involves using a laser that targets the pigment in a hair follicle
and heats it, destroying the hair shaft. It doesn't work well on blonde
hair that is the same color as the skin. The procedure also isn't
permanent. Mr. Smotrich, who says he has had some hair removed
by the laser himself, compares the pain to having a rubber band snapped
against the skin... Laser
hair removal systems do not accomplish permanent hair removal.
We know this is true, because the manufacturers of the laser hair
removal systems have told us it is true. Yes, the people who actually
design and build these devices say they provide not permanent but
"long-term" hair removal. What better authority could we
have than that?... |
